I specialize in fantasy illustration with a feminist heart. My work has ranged from book covers and RPG cards to children's books, 2-D character designs for animation/gaming, and even billboards! My clients include Penguin Random House, Cartoon Network, Creative Assembly, Samsung, and many passionate indiepreneurs who have trusted me with their own dreams.
My own personal projects combine my love of esoteric mythology/fairytales, gender studies, and deeply philosophical storytelling.
I am nomadic. I travel the world; grew up across middle east and America, spent 10 years in Dubai as a young adult, took my family across the USA for the last two years in an RV, and am now living between both LOS ANGELES and MEXICO as the wind blows me.
FUN FACTS:
- I changed my name to Resh Darkstar. I shed my name when it didn't fit me after dramatic personal changes, like my spirit animal the snake. My old name was Cassandre Bolan. Dark Stars are vastly more ancient and dense than normal stars. They are fueled by dark matter but invisible since light cannot escape its titanic gravity. They could be blackholes. They could be the missing story of existence. We could be in one right now.
- I am obsessed with Kpop, Kdramas, and anything Korean
- I read a name dictionary from cover to cover when I was a kid, for fun!
- My life partner is a Trans women
- I have full-time camped for the last year, and now find walls unnecessary
- I have a snake tattoo that slithers when i wiggle my hand!
